Mi Familia Vota Education Fund and Partners Promote Early Voting at Orlando Rally

Saturday, October 20th, 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

WHAT: With 19 days until the Election, Mi Familia Vota Education Fund (MFV EF) – a national, non-profit organization that seeks to increase Latino civic participation across the country – and its partners such as Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA), Project Vote, Organize Now and Central Florida Jobs with Justice are gathering to motivate the Latino community to vote early and make their voices heard through the ballot box.

In an unprecedented effort, the civic engagement organizations have collected over 30,000 voter registrations in Central Florida. Now their outreach is focusing on getting voters to exercise their right to vote, and vote early. According to the Brennan Center, early voting has grown over the past few election cycles. In 2008, over 30 percent of votes were cast before Election Day.

“Early voting gives Americans across the country the ability to vote for their interests at the ballot box, even if they can’t make it to the polls on November 6,” said Ben Monterroso, Executive Director for Mi Familia Vota Education Fund.
