In what has been called “part of a blatant and ongoing partisan effort to keep people from voting,” Republican operatives are raising hysteria about alleged voter registration fraud.

Reilly at TPM reports on Mitt Romney’s call for Virginia officials to investigate the Voter Participation Center, following hysterical reports of a dog receiving a voter registration card from the group. The drummed up story was “a perfect example of the disservice these kinds of [stories] do to civic engagement efforts like ours designed to make it more convenient for unregistered Virginians to vote,” the Center stated.
The group said in a letter to state officials today that Romney’s effort, “may rise to the level of interference with legitimate voter registration efforts contrary to applicable state and federal laws.” READ MORE.
