Project Vote’ welcomes Jean Alia Robles, fellow of the American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL).
Jean’s fellowship with ACYPL is under the President’s Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) program. Her emphasis in the YSEALI program is in the legislative process and good governance. She has 14 years of experience working from the grassroots level and beyond, relating to policy making in Civil-military operations and peace-building as a Philippine Army Officer. She holds a masters degree in public administration from Curtin University Australia and a masters degree in peace education from the United Nations-mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica. She is currently advocating for a more inclusive, democratic, and responsible voting system in the Philippines.
“I’m looking forward to working with Project Vote and learning about how to organize and mobilize people to make sure every citizen in my county will be able to participate in elections,” said Jean. “I’m also interested to see how Project Vote builds relationships with different organizations that share their same interests in order to sustain and strengthen the drive for a more inclusive electoral process.”
