Project Vote has long advocated that voter registration be a part of the work done by all Navigators and certified assistance counselors helping individuals with enrollment for health benefits through the ACA Health Exchanges. We have advocated that governments and organizations employing Navigators and certified assistance counselors train staff members to tackle the voter registration component of health benefits enrollment and effectively discuss voter registration with their clients—many of whom may have no prior experience or access to vote registration.

As part of this advocacy, Project Vote has offered resources, training, and technical assistance to organizations that wish to offer this valuable service to their communities and ensure their eligible clients have the information and support they need to register to vote.

We are excited to share that many organizations have listened to our advocacy, and continue to rely on our materials. Recently, Families USA hosted a webinar addressing voter registration and the steps some assister organizations are taking to ensure that voter registration is part of the enrollment process. This webinar has presentations from Navigator groups and Families USA staff, specifically discussing Project Vote’s resources and training related to voter registration. We are very pleased and proud that the presenters conveyed how useful Project Vote’s resources on this topic have been.
