The responsibility of registering Americans to vote should primarily rest on the government. We work to ensure that federal and state agencies meet their obligations to federal law, and to develop innovative new solutions to the challenges of ensuring all eligible Americans are registered.
Voter registration laws, rules, and practices should facilitate registration, not impede it. But not everyone agrees. There are efforts underway to improperly purge voter rolls, impose new ID requirements, and restrict community registration drives. Meanwhile, technology has opened up new possibilities to solve longstanding registration challenges. Project Vote’s Election Administration Program team works to ensure that voter registration is accessible, effective, and enduring.
Project Vote's Voter Participation Program provides technical assistance, management, and quality control services to help nonpartisan partners conduct effective, efficient, cost-effective field programs that empower underrepresented communities.
