I am pleased to announce that Steve Rosenfeld has joined Project Vote full-time as Deputy Communications Director. In this new role Steve will be responsible for helping to shape and execute Project Vote’s overall media strategy.

As many of you know, Steve is no stranger to election administration and voting rights issues. Steve has written extensively about these issues as a Senior Fellow with AlterNet.org; he has been a writer, producer, and reporter with several publications and media outlets (including NPR and Air America Radio); he served as press secretary for several political campaigns; and he is the author of several books, including Count My Vote: A Citizen’s Guide to Voting.

More recently, in his role as a consultant Steve was the author of Project Vote’s 2010 case study, Paperless Registration: Innovations in Three States, and has worked with the Pew Center’s Election Initiative on their forthcoming voter registration modernization plan.

For Project Vote to be effective in advancing our issues and advocating for reform, a strong media capacity is essential, and so we are excited to add Steve’s expertise and experience to our mix.
