ID necessary at the polls?

Yes – for all first time voters in that election district.

If the voter is voting absentee, then she or he should enclose a photocopy of ID with the ballot.1

Acceptable forms of ID at the polls:

Must show name and address:

  • PA Driver’s License or ID Card issued by PENNDOT, US Govt. or state govt.

  • U.S. Passport

  • U.S. Armed Forces ID

  • Student/Employee ID

  • Voter ID Card

  • Non-Photo ID issued by state/fed govt.

  • Firearm Permit

  • Current bank statement

  • Current utility bill

  • Current paycheck

  • Government check

If no ID:

Vote a provisional ballot
