ID necessary at the polls?

Proof of identification is necessary only if the voter's identity has not previously been verified.1

Acceptable forms of ID at the polls:

Must show name and address:

  • Driver’s License Number

  • Last four digits of SSN

  • Valid Photo ID

  • Utility Bill

  • Bank statement

  • Government check

  • Other Government document

If no ID:

Vote an affidavit ballot. When casting an affidavit ballot, the voter will be given information on how to find out if her or his ballot is counted and why it was necessary to vote an Affidavit Ballot.2
