ID necessary at the polls?

Yes – for everyone

Acceptable forms of ID at the polls:

Must show name and address:

• Photo ID

• Utility bill

• Bank statement

• Government check

• Paycheck

• Other government document

If no ID:

Regular voters:

Vote a regular ballot if this is not her or his first time voting. The election official will mark it on the Precinct Voter Registration List and the voter may still vote with a regular ballot.

First time voters:

Vote a provisional ballot if it is the voter's first time voting and she or he did not submit a photocopy of ID with her or his voter registration application.
