ARIZONA

ID necessary at the polls?

Yes – for everyone. Voters must provide either one photo ID with name and address on it, or two forms of ID that bear only the name and address of the voter. 1

Acceptable forms of ID at the polls:

Must show name and address of the voter (two required):

  • Utility bill

  • Bank or credit union statement

  • Valid Arizona Vehicle Registration

  • Indian census card

  • Property tax statement of the elector's residence

  • Tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification

  • Recorder's Certificate

  • Valid United States federal, state, or local government issued identification, including a voter registration card issued by the county recorder

If no ID:

Vote a provisional ballot and bring ID to the county recorder's office by 5 p.m. on the fifth business day after the general election, including federal. Otherwise, the voter must bring ID by 5 p.m. on the third business day after any other election in order for the provisional ballot to be processed and counted.

Special Circumstances:

A voter who identifies herself or himself as a member of a federally recognized Native American tribe and provides tribal identification will be issued a provisional ballot. If she or he does not have tribal ID, a provisional ballot may be casted. In this case, the voter must also provide ID by the required deadline.
